The '''Hypnotic Hands''' fad was started on March 22, 2006 when karndude created an YTMND of actor [[w:Charles_Martinet|Charles Martinet]] moving his hands around in an "extreme fashion" from a promotional video on his web site [http://www.charlesmartinet.com/]. Charles is most known as the voice of Mario in such video games as ''Super Mario 64'' [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0204657/] as well as the voice of Luigi and Wario in ''Mario Kart 64'' [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0234202/]. Since then he has done voice work for 48 other video games (mostly of Mario / Nintendo relation) [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0553409/].

The fad usually consists of edited versions of the original YTMND with Charles Martinet doing an action, such as eating popcorn, or cutting someones hair, etc. The song "Stealing the Fat" by the Dust Brothers usually accompanies the fad and was featured in [[YTMND_Soundtrack#Volume_10|Volume 10]] of the [[YTMND Soundtrack]].
