Chuck Norris is an American actor best known for his role as Cordell Walker in "Walker, Texas Ranger".  The fad originated as a results of 2 different sources:
+
*On the Conan O'Brien show, one of Conan's most popular segments involves pulling a lever to show random Walker Texas Ranger skits
+
*An internet meme called "Chuck Norris Facts" emerged in early 2005 and blew out of control in 2006.  These "facts" consisted of "godlike" and fictional tidbits about Chuck Norris's life.  For example, one fact included "Chuck Norris doesn't sleep, he lurks."

The 2 sources collided with each other around January 2006 and the resulting collision led to a major fad.  Almost every day during January and February, Chuck Norris sites were common.  Some sites involved showing his power while other sites had Chuck in fads, normally trap sites.  Most of the sites are accompanied by the theme song to the show "Walker Texas Ranger". The song was included on Volume 10 of the YTMND soundtrack.

The fad is now commonly linked with the NARVs. These sites will often feature old/outdated facts or old clips already done.
