Notable Sites:

Beginnings

Although a recent member of the ytmnd community, NiteSky is no stranger to the culture that exists in this unique corner of the Internet. An observer since summer 2006, he finally decided to set up an account and jump into the fray. That same day he was quick to create his first site entitled Epic Steve Irwin Maneuver thus aiding in the perpetuation of one of his all-time favourite fads. “In some ways, fads never die.” He remarked recently during a discussion on the nature of ytmnd. To date he has participated in the continuation of nearly all the major fads from occasional compilations to random character references.

Experimentation

From time to time NiteSky has tried his hand at producing origional works free of all previously recognizable ytmnd aspects. Perhaps his most prominant example is Your World Before You Were Born, a ytmnd that aims to make the user think and question his place in the universe. To date, his sites of this nature have enjoyed only moderate levels of success.

Ethical Stance

As a user of principle, NiteSky supports the vision of a free and just ytmnd where order is maintained and regulation is thoroughly practiced. He recently stated that “A fair community where creativity is allowed to thrive without fear of injustice is one where the greatest results are to be found”. In addition to his take on the current state of ytmnd, NiteSky also recognizes that there are many challenges facing those who are in power that may wish to achieve similar ends and fully endorses their efforts.

A Question Of L337

While NiteSky may not be the first user to up-vote at the sign of sexual content, he none the less has contributed to the Dr-L337 phenomenon. His site Dr-L337 Has One Weakness was admittedly controversial. Modeled after the user Syncan’s famous ytmnd Chunk is Indestructible, it depicts the fictional character being shot up by the popular pseudo-journalist Stephen Colbert. In a recent interview NiteSky stated in response to accusations of Anti-L337ism that “…it was simply designed for its shock value but I did not intend for it to offend users who contribute to the Dr-L337 Fad in a positive way. I believe the potential is there for Dr-L337 to be an appreciated fad.” He added that by pursuing different avenues, users can bring such fads to new levels citing his most recent example PTKFGS: Dr-R337 Is Getting Raid.

NiteSky strongly condemns the attack of Jan 6th, 2007 which targeted his friend and prominent user Fourestresulting in the complete deletion of all of his highly-rated sites. NiteSky has always opposed the concept of unregulated shared accounts such as the account of Dr-L337 that is so frequently used to hack numerous aspects of ytmnd. While this may be the case, NiteSky understands and supports the rights of the honest users who contribute the Dr-L337 Fad via the account in question. He maintains that the current situation leaves considerable room for improvement.
