re: Fads

Go right ahead (I would hope someone saw that). If you want, I can import the actual XML data directly from Wikipedia (I'm an admin at both places), which would keep everything, including the authors and all that lovely stuff in tact. We're not exactly complying with the GFDL now.... And one more thing, when you leave a message on a YTMND:, Talk: or User talk: namespace, you should sign your posts using the signature button (second from right) or 4 tildes, to leave your name, the date and time. Thanks, Mysekurity 14:53, 20 May 2006 (CDT)

Very nice, glad to see a WP admin here :). I've set you as an admin and bcrat here, and hopefully we can both do something to pretty this up (see YTMND.css). We should probably edit MediaWiki:Common.css and such to make it look cool. If you know anyone else who knows about MediaWiki, just send 'em over, as Max has asked that I try to help this thing out. I just got your message, and you're welcome :) -Mysekurity 15:05, 20 May 2006 (CDT)
First, I'l like to change the logo first. The white padding around the stars looks too sloppy. --LBMixPro 15:12, 20 May 2006 (CDT)
Yeah, I'm not sure if you have to have access to the database—I told max how to change a bunch of that stuff, and he said he'd look into it. If db access is needed, just e-mail him (max@ytmnd.com), and ask for it. I'm not too good with this stuff, but I'd gladly help out using the MW documentation. -Mysekurity | t 15:15, 20 May 2006 (CDT)

--I have a higher res version of the logo if you need it. fyrestorm 23:00, 20 May 2006 (CDT)

Yeah, the Almightylol attack was great stuff (note sarcasm). Thanks for the upgrade, and I can send you the psd later today. I'll ask max if we can change the graphic later. fyrestorm 08:04, 21 May 2006 (CDT)
Oh, I seem to recall that the sitelogo is stored in a global variable ($something), which Max'll need to change, or provide us with access to. Too bad I have no idea how to work these things. You want to contact someone over at Meta or WP? -Mysekurity | talk 01:05, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Page Moves

Speaking of the "Willy on Wheels" vandalism, how can we prevent this from happening again? Is there a way to prevent moving articles so we don't lose information again? -- fyrestorm 08:59, 21 May 2006 (CDT)

Sup?

Moe Epsilon 10:06, 21 May 2006 (CDT)

Yeah, what you said. ;-) I was invited hear by Mysekurity, he said he might make me an admin here. Moe Epsilon 14:23, 21 May 2006 (CDT)

Admin noticeboard

Yeah, sure. We have to keep the main page clean and usable, but not leave the way for multiple pages on the same topic to be created. Basically there are only a few people doing stuff here, but there will be more, and we should prepare for that. -Mysekurity | talk 21:02, 21 May 2006 (CDT)

Not that you've done anything, but just a reminder to only give Sysop access to people you know you can trust; go easy on the Beaurocrat access too. I think we're good with the number of bcrats we have now. You, me, Max, and Fyre are probably enough. If anyone needs bcrat access that bad, we'll deal with it then. -Mysekurity | talk 21:17, 21 May 2006 (CDT)

New messages

This is a test message to see if the new messages MediaWiki is working. Is it? Moe Epsilon 12:25, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Ok, to me it looks like two (). are just there when it says we have new messages. I'll try and fix that. Moe Epsilon 12:34, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
I see. This is an old version of MediaWiki, so it doesn't support the diff function. --LBMixPro 12:37, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
How about now? Moe Epsilon 12:41, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
Damn, oh well, I just reverted back to the standard one until I can figure what the problem with it is. Probably just a techinical thing I'm not seeing yet. Moe Epsilon 13:11, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
Hey, did you also notice that the timestamp doesn't match the times in Special:Contributions? Maybe because the timestamp is going by CDT instead of UTC? Moe Epsilon 13:13, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

e-mail from max

I just got an e-mail from Max saying he updated to 1.6.5, which should solve a number of our issues (see the lovely protect buttons?). He also said I should tell him if I needed anything changed. Do we? And should we shut down any new users until this asshole shuts the fuck up? -Mysekurity | talk 22:15, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Check your e-mail :). -Mysekurity | talk 21:56, 23 May 2006 (CDT)

IP check

Do we have the power to IP check people here? Moe Epsilon 22:55, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

About CheckUser: Well, I got something to share with you, but I'll e-mail it to you rather than say outloud. About MediaWiki: Great, I'll have to try out that new messages thing again. ;-) Moe Epsilon 23:00, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
Sorry for taking so long, it was a long e-mail I sent you. ;-) Congrats on the Userpage award. You're userpage there looks awesome. Moe Epsilon 23:40, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Hate to butt in here, but do you think it's possible to add CheckUser? I know we've been bitching to Max a bunch, bit it'd be damn helpful with vandals and such (when the time comes, of course). Maybe you and I should make up a whole list of shit to get done, and then get on that when we can. I think it's good, but if we could get the monobook skin to look something like this (CSS), we'd be fucking golden. I'll try to see how they did it, but it probably has something to do with localsettings.php. -Mysekurity | talk 17:41, 25 May 2006 (CDT)

Jesus Christ. I'd started editing YTMND:Wishlist when IE crashed. Thinking more carefully, I crafted an entire wishlist in Notepad, and just as I was going to upload it, I checked Special:Recentchanges and saw that you'd beat me to it... not really that creepy, I know, because I mentioned it above, but still pretty damn weird. I checked around the entire MediaWiki official site, and found stuff that would be nice. Tell me whatcha think... -Mysekurity | talk 21:12, 25 May 2006 (CDT)
Is there anything else you'd like to add or subtract from the wishlist? I'm thinking of sending this off to Max soon (yeah, keeping in mind the skin update), so if I don't hear back from you in the next few days, I'll go ahead and do it. Thanks, Mysekurity | O RLY? 00:40, 27 May 2006 (CDT)
You think it's ready to send off to Max? We gotta stop with that {{from Wikipedia}} bullshit. -Mysekurity | O RLY? 16:33, 28 May 2006 (CDT)

Re: iSketch

iSketch is not a user on YTMND. This was actually for a website called iSketch.net where it's basically a clone of pictionary. As per their rules for contributions, a list has to be compiled containing at least 1,500 words. [1] -Toolofthesystem

Centered image

lol, gotta love the voting. you might want to get rid of the mention of the wiki tho, cuz this is basically kept under wraps and spread by word-of-mouth. i dont see why you wouldnt want people to vote...:-\ --Mysekurity | O RLY? 19:34, 4 June 2006 (CDT)

fullurl

I tried checking Meta and Wikipedia to see if there was anything I could do about the way MediaWiki retardedly handles external links. I tried urlencode, but I dont think it worked. If you find anything, let me know, alright? -Mysekurity | O RLY? 21:05, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Thanks for the hall of fame openage. Lets get on that. You want me to cover any special? -Mysekurity | my Oh face 21:09, 7 June 2006 (CDT)
I noticed! Im lovin the edumacational stuff. The thing about this wiki that's nice is that there's no real beaurocracy. Sure, it's not going to change the world, but neither is WP :). Also, you can put up pictures of meth heads, and everyone finds it funny, not offensive. Also cocks. -Mysekurity | my Oh face 21:17, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Wishlist

Well, check your e-mail. Max sent me something that he changed a bunch of the variables. I sent you a few other things, so stay on the look out. -Mysekurity | my Oh face 20:04, June 11, 2006 (CDT)

You get my e-mail?? -Mysekurity | my Oh face 22:56, June 13, 2006 (CDT)

Monobook.css

WTF did you do to redlinked tabs?? I can't tell if a talk page is empty now... and my css is, shall we say, limited. I get the whole "fuck IE" thing, but honestly, it's the only one that doesn't suck when it comes to viewing YTMNDs. I take it you use Opera, do you have any tips to get rid of the white box where the sound loads? Firefox eats too much memory for me to use it. -Mysekurity | my Oh face 15:04, June 15, 2006 (CDT)

I love how fast Opera is and all that, but as with pretty much every other "alternative" browser, it renders ugly as shit. It's not quite as rigid and "linuxy" as FF, but I'll definitely check out K-Mellon (heard good things). On a side note, I'm on the market for a good linux distro. Any ideas? -Mysekurity | it's legal in some states 20:51, June 15, 2006 (CDT)

No, nothing. I was thinking about something, but I'll have to ask someone else. BTW, do you use IRC? --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 19:07, June 24, 2006 (CDT)
Unfortunantly, my computer doesn't do to good while on IRC and I try not to use it, I don't think my computer could take it. ;-) Moe Epsilon 19:18, June 24, 2006 (CDT)

re: lowercase titles

FUCK! Damn MediaWiki! I'm going to try to get Max to change it back, but I'm in the middle of Hicksville, IN, right now, and not doing too well with the internet. Sorry about the fuckage, and I guess it isn't too much that syncan and ink aren't lowercased so that the rest of the site isnt completely fucked up. Stupid fucking MediaWiki with its all-or-nothing approach. yay for open-source! Yay for freedom! -Mysekurity | 1'd 22:26, June 24, 2006 (CDT)

Unban NeoMatrixClt

LB, Neo wants me to relay a request to unban - he was just messing around with that user page of mine and besides it was of incorrect capitalization which made it a bit impossible to find.

Image Syntax

Also, there seems to be an issue with the image syntax. Any way you can play around with that?
